Glocal University celebrated a momentous occasion on Sunday evening with the grand convocation ceremony for the students. The event, held with grandeur and pride, showcased the culmination of years of hard work and dedication of the passing out students.

The ceremony was graced by esteemed guests, Mr. N.H. Rizvi, former Special Secretary of the Government of Uttar Pradesh, who served as the chief guest and keynote speaker, and Dr. Rajneesh Agrawal, CEO of MTNL-STPI IT Service, as the distinguished guest.

Leading the proceedings was the Honorable Vice Chancellor of Glocal University, Professor (Dr.) P.K. Bharti, who not only presided over the ceremony but also administered the oath of convocation, inspiring the graduates to uphold the values of knowledge and integrity.

Under the guidance of Vice Chancellor Professor (Dr.) P.K. Bharti, Chancellor Medals were conferred upon 18 outstanding students, while Vice-Chancellor Medals were awarded to 19 deserving individuals. Additionally, degrees were bestowed upon Ph.D. recipients, marking their scholarly achievements.

The convocation commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the dispelling of ignorance, followed by the enchanting Saraswati Vandana, invoking blessings for wisdom and enlightenment.

Pro Vice Chancellor Professor (Dr.) John Finbe extended a warm welcome to all attendees, setting the tone for an evening of celebration and recognition.

The Honorable Vice Chancellor, Professor (Dr.) P.K. Bharti, presented the annual report, highlighting the university’s academic achievements and milestones attained during the past year.

Registrar Professor (Dr.) S.P. Pandey declared the convocation opening, paving the way for the conferment of degrees by Pro Vice Chancellor Professor (Dr.) Satish Kumar Sharma. This was followed by an insightful address by Dr. Rajneesh Agrawal, offering valuable insights and words of wisdom to the graduating cohort.

The convocation ceremony was further enriched by the keynote address delivered by the esteemed Chief Guest, Mr. N.H. Rizvi, who shared inspiring anecdotes and encouraged the graduates to embark on their future endeavours with zeal and determination.

IFTAR PARTY ORGANIZED AT GLOCAL UNIVERSITY

On the auspicious occasion of Ramadan, Glocal University once again embraced the spirit of togetherness and cultural harmony by hosting its annual “Iftar Party” on 4th April 2024.
The esteemed Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) P.K. Bharti, said that the event aimed to uphold India’s rich Ganga-Jamuni culture while fostering messages of peace, unity, and brotherhood.

The Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) P.K. Bharti, reiterated the university’s commitment to inclusivity and diversity, highlighting the significance of such gatherings in promoting mutual understanding and respect among all.

The event witnessed the presence of esteemed dignitaries including Pro Vice Chancellors Prof. (Dr.) S.K. Sharma and Prof. (Dr.) P.K. Mishra, Registrar Prof. (Dr.) S.P. Pandey, and CFO A.P. Singh (CA), alongside heads of various departments, faculty members, and dedicated non-teaching staff. Together, they partook in the Iftar festivities and shared a delightful dinner in the serene ambience of the Yoga Compound at Glocal University.

The seamless execution of the event was made possible through the collaborative efforts of Chief Proctor Md. Jamirul Islam, Dr. Reshma Tahir, DSW Mrs. Swarnima Singh, Dr. Mohd Wazid Khan, Dr. Waseem Ahmad, Ms. Salma Parveen, Mr. Shahnavaz Ali, and Mr. Mhd. Holi Milan ceremony was organized on 23rd March at the Glocal University, Saharanpur, in which all the faculty members and staff greeted each other by applying abeer-gulal.
On the occasion Vice Chancellor of the Glocal University, Prof. (Dr.) P.K. Bharti, described Holi festival as a symbol of the victory of good over evil and said that this festival is full of gaiety and enthusiasm. He said that Holi is capable of reducing the mutual differences and estrangement spreading in the society.The purpose of applying color and gulal in Holi is to make life colourful.
On this occasion, everyone’s feet danced on the songs of Holi. Along with color-gulal, dish was also arranged by the university. All the staff members along with all the faculty members of the university were present on the occasion.

District Level Neighbourhood Youth Parliament Organized at Glocal University

On 21 March, 2023 a District Level Neighbourhood Youth Parliament was jointly organized by the Glocal University and Nehru Yuva Kendra, Saharanpur, aiming to educate voters.

The programme commenced with the lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries, including the Vice Chancellor of Glocal University, Prof. (Dr.) P.K. Bharti, District Youth Officer, Saharanpur Shubham Jain, Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) S.K. Sharma, Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) P.K. Mishra and Registrar Prof. (Dr.)S.P. Pandey.

During the programme, students simulated a model parliament and engaged in debates on various issues to educate youth for voting.

On this occasion, the Vice Chancellor of Glocal University, Prof. (Dr.) P.K. Bharti, emphasized the significant role of youth in the country’s progress and encouraged them to actively participate in such programmes.

The Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) S.K. Sharma, Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) P.K. Mishra and Registrar Prof. (Dr.)S.P. Pandey, District Youth Officer, Saharanpur Mr. Shubham Jain, D.S.W. Pawar, Dr. Waseem Ahmad and others unveiled the posters for ‘well-organized voter education’. They also enlightened the youth about the importance of voting by expressing their views.

Certificates and medals were distributed to the participating students for their outstanding performances, and the guests were honoured with momentos and bouquets.

On this occasion, Rajendra Singh from Nehru Yuva Kendra, Block Coordinator Ajay Saini, Km. Vaishali, Mr. Praveen Kumar, Mr. Gaurav Tyagi, Mr. Aditya Tomar, other faculty members, and a huge number of students were also present.

Glocal University Pharmacy College Celebrates National Pharmacy Education Day on the theme “Leveraging Synergism- Academia Partnership for Implementation of NEP”
The “National Pharmacy Education Day” was organized by Glocal University Pharmacy College and School of Pharmaceutical Sciences on March 6th at Glocal University, Saharanpur, under the visionary guidance of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) P. K. Bharti. The programme commenced with lamp lighting ceremony by Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) P. K. Bharti, Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) S.K. Sharma, Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) P. K. Mishra, Registrar Prof. (Dr.) S. P. Pandey, Dean Academic Affairs Prof. (Dr.) Pramod Kumar, Director Admin Mr. Guru Dayal Singh Katiyar, Dean Pharmacy Prof. (Dr.) Umesh Kumar and Prof. (Dr.) Varsha Deva and chief guest for the event was Dr. Lokesh Dhameja.
The program focused on the theme, “leveraging Synergism- Academia Partnership for Implementation of NEP”. During the event, Honourable Vice Chancellor emphasized the significant correlation between pharmacy and health, highlighting the potential for innovative practices to contribute to the well-being of society and the nation. He lauded the university’s efforts, noting that over 15 pharmaceutical companies will be visiting the campus, providing significant opportunities for aspiring pharmacists. In the inaugural session, Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) P. K. Mishra delivered an enlightening speech, emphasizing the role of pharmacy in healthcare development and advocating for new research initiatives.
As part of the program, students presented models created in the laboratory, showcasing practical demonstrations in areas such as pre-formulation, formulation ,evaluation, and packaging of various dosage forms, including tablets, syrups, suspensions, emulsions, creams, , transdermal patches, and capsules, adhering to Indian Pharmacopoeia standards. Additionally, a quiz competition and rangoli competition were also organized.
The event was led by distinguished educators, including the Dean of Pharmacy, Prof. (Dr.) Umesh Kumar, Prof. (Dr.) Varsha Deva, Prof. (Dr.) Abdul Hafiz, Dr. Yash Pratap Singh, Dr. Siraj Anwar, Dr. Shamoon Ahmad, Mr. Syed Basharat, Mr. Zaid Chaudhary, Mr. Monish Khan, Mr. Muhammad Murtaza, Mr. Muhammad Asif, Mr. Johnny Kumar, Mr. Prabhat, Mr. Firoz Alam, and Ms. Shaili Raghav. Deans, principals, and faculty members from other schools also actively participated in the program, fostering inter-departmental relationships. Moreover, students from nursing and paramedical departments were given the opportunity to participate, promoting collaboration across different disciplines.
